SPECIAL FUND FOR PESACH
There is a universal Jewish custom to arrange a special fund before Pesach known as Ma’ot Hittim.  Ma’ot Hittim (literally, money for wheat) is given to poor people to help them purchase Matzot and wine for Pesach.
