Dear MSC Congregants:
MSC is suspending all food events at the synagogue. This includes; daily breakfasts, Yartzeit berachot events, Shabbat dinners, Kiddushim and Seudah Shelishit.
The Hebrew After school program on Wednesday will be held via video conference. Parents have been informed.
The Shabbat morning Children’s program (Kid’s circle) is suspended until further notice. THE SHABBAT YOUTH MINYAN WILL SERVE AS A SECONDARY ADULT MINYAN ON THE 5TH FLOOR. PLEASE NO CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF BAR/BAT MITZVAH. CAPACITY OF 20. All elderly congregants above the age of 65, or those who have compromised immune systems, respiratory issues or other underlying illnesses, must not come to the Synagogue. This is the CDC recommendation. If you or someone in your family is feeling unwell (fever, flu symptoms, etc.), or you were in contact with someone who tested positive for the COVID-19, please do not attend the synagogue for services, and please inform us so that we can continue to monitor the situation. Whoever has been recently traveling abroad in areas affected by COVID-19, or anyone requiring self-quarantine must not come to the Synagogue.
Anyone who can not attend services and needs to recite Kaddish, please let us know before Shabbat. We will have our Hazan recite Kaddish with your loved ones in mind.
Other adults, who are healthy, and plan to attend synagogue services, must first wash and sanitize their hands as soon as they enter the building. Do not move around the building before washing and sanitizing your hands. We have installed hand sanitizer dispensers throughout the building as well as equipped our washing stations with antibacterial soap and hand sanitizers. We are having the synagogue sanitized on an ongoing basis.
Also, all congregants should please keep their distance from, and avoid contact (such as shaking hands, hugging etc.) with other members. Please understand that the synagogue is open and available for prayer services, so as not to deprive those who desire and have made a conscious decision, to pray with a minyan.
Here is a reminder of the respiratory etiquette and recommended precautions:
➡ Regular hand washing (as appropriate) with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
➡ Covering coughs and/or sneezes with a tissue, discarding the tissue and washing your hands. If you don’t have a tissue available, cough or sneeze into your elbow.
➡ Other appropriate actions include avoiding touching your eyes, nose, and mouth and disinfect objects and surfaces that are frequently handled.
For any further information please see the CDC website click here
After Shabbat, we will reassess the situation and we will keep you posted.
Thank you & Shabbat Shalom.
